Installing or Removing Plugins Managing Waves Plugins
If you install new plug-ins on your system then they will be automatically loaded when you use any of your existing Lok and Load shortcuts. Also, if you un-install plug-ins then these items can be removed from shortcut selection lists. Please follow the steps below for managing Waves plugins. Note that you may need to substitute folder names depending on your installation...
All existing Lok and Load shortcuts can easily be updated to recognise current plug-ins by following the steps below... 1. Choose New from the File menu to create a new Lok and Load shortcut.
1. Run Lok and Load and select a shortcut in the left pane. 2. Assign Plug-Ins 1 by clicking the "..." button and navigating to
"\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\Plug-Ins" folder.
2. Choose Lok from the File menu. This sets the "Current Lok" on this shortcut. 3. Assign Plug-Ins 2 by clicking the "..." button and navigating to
"Program Files\Waves\Plug-Ins" folder.
3. Click the "+" to expand the shortcut and highlight "Plug-Ins 1" 4. In addition, for Plug-Ins 2, change the file type from .dpm to .dll.
4. Choose "Refresh Plug-Ins" from the Edit menu and click Ok on the confirm dialog. If required, highlight "Plug-Ins 2", and choose "Refresh Plug-Ins", then "Plug-Ins 3", etc. 5. If you have other plugins that are installed elsewhere (for example, Antares Auto-Tune) then set Plug-Ins 3 (and Plug-Ins 4 as well, if required) to do these plugins folders.
5. Select the next shortcut and repeat steps 2 - 4 until all shortcuts have been updated. You may need to use Windows Explorer to look in those folders to determine the file extension in order to set the correct file type.

6. Click Ok button and Lok and Load will create the shortcut and the left pane in Lok and Load will display your shortcut title.
Using The Pro Tools Shortcut
Once you have used a Lok and Load shortcut (or used Lok on a shortcut) then that Plug-Ins set will be the "Current Lok" and remain unchanged until a different Lok and Load shortcut is run (or Lok is used on another Plug-Ins shortcut). Therefore, if you have a Plug-Ins set that you want to use repeatedly, then you can just run Pro Tools directly from its own shortcut, without using Lok and Load, if desired. 7. Under the title, click on Plug-Ins 2 and you should see the Waves plugins listed so you can check which ones you want.
